Abdulla and his family wishes to return to Bartella

Abdullah, 30 years old, is a young man belonging to the Shabak community and originally from Bartella, a small town located in Ninewa Plains. With support from USAID, he received nine-months’ worth of cash assistance that helped him take care of his family and his disabled children. “I very much appreciate this cash support,” Abdullah said. “It helped me cover my family expenditures especially during the long lockdowns, as I was not able to work,” he added.

Abdullah, who lives in Erbil because of the lack of job opportunities and safety in his area of origin, wishes to return one day to Bartella, and to be able to provide for his family in a safe and stable environment.
