Supporting Healthcare at Maryamana Hospital (funded by Embrace)
The Chaldean Archdiocese of Erbil, through the Ankawa Humanitarian Committee (AHC) and with generous funding from Embrace Middle East, implemented a vital healthcare support project at Maryamana Hospital in mid-October 2022. The project, led by Fr. Shwan Kakona, aimed to provide essential medical services to vulnerable individuals, ensuring access to quality healthcare.
With 24,000 Euros in funding, the project covered a wide range of medical needs, including Emergency Room visits, laboratory and imaging tests, and critical surgeries such as Cesarean Sections (C/S). A key initiative within the project was a breast cancer screening campaign, launched in December 2022, which successfully provided mammograms for 600 women, reinforcing the importance of early detection.
By the project’s completion, more than 970 individuals and families had benefited from various medical interventions, many of which were lifesaving. The partnership between Embrace Middle East, AHC, and the Archdiocese of Erbil played a crucial role in delivering much-needed healthcare support to the community.
