When small companies face unprecedented challenges, it becomes more crucial than ever for us to come together as a community and support one another. Through THABAT Project, Ankawa Humanitarian Committee aims to provide small grants to assist you in developing your business and achieving stability
The THABAT Project is focused on assisting small business owners in Erbil by tackling the obstacles they encounter in the local market. Its goal is to enhance their livelihoods by empowering them and helping them overcome challenges in their respective sectors. The project achieves this by providing targeted support and resources, as well as offering comprehensive training programs that cover a range of business management topics. By addressing issues related to operational management and effective marketing, THABAT aims to support and develop small businesses, enabling them to thrive.
1- Any Established (or in the stages of Establishment) micro business owner who has Iraqi Citizenship. Youth and females are highly encouraged to apply.
2- Residence of Erbil Governorate, specifically: Districts of Ankawa, Koya, Shaqlawa, Baharka, Qushtapa.
3- The Business is preferred to be in the following sectors: Agriculture - Digital Service – Retail - Home Based food businesses. Climate Change and Sustainability oriented micro-enterprises are encouraged.
4- Willing to comply with the requirements of the project activities.
5- Have not received prior grants within the last 12 months.

Selection Process
Upon your call for registration, the hotline operator will request that you be prepared to have the necessary personal information for registration purposes. This typically involves your complete name, ID number and Contact details ( Phone number, email address), and any other ME-specific information required.
Our AHC selection committee will carefully review and evaluate registration based on the eligibility criteria, suitability and potential for impact. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview or further assessment to determine their final selection.
Thabat Project Activities
Business Management
Through business management training, participants in the project will gain valuable knowledge and skills in areas such as business administration, marketing strategies, and financial planning. These training courses will help participants acquire the necessary skills and experiences to adapt to the local market, understand customer needs, and effectively position their products or services.
Small Grants
THABAT provides a range of small grants to micro-business owners. These grants serve as financial support that enables project participants to invest in their businesses, purchase necessary equipment or inventory, and implement growth strategies. By offering these grants, the project aims to enhance the growth and sustainability of small businesses, to support the development of one aspect of the business ultimately leading to increased economic opportunities and improved livelihoods.
Marketing Campaign
THABAT Project recognizes the importance of showcasing the products and services of small business owners to a wider audience. To facilitate this, the project will promote and support the businesses through a thorough marketing campaign that will include tradeshows. This event provides a platform for project participants to showcase their products, engage with potential customers, and expand their network.
