TA Project distribution in COVID-19 crisis

Restrictions due to #COVID19 have resulted in many Iraqis unable to find work or receive support. Since June, USAID has been working with the Chaldean Archdiocese of Erbil to provide 9 months of cash assistance to families living in #Erbil who were displaced by #ISIS in 2014.

Strict safety measures were imposed at the distribution site to ensure that everyone felt safe. Participants were given specific times to collect their cash support in order to avoid large crowds and tape was marked on the ground to help people maintain a safe distance apart while waiting. Hand washing stations are also available on-site with instructions for proper use and additional information on preventative measures against COVID-19. “We are very happy that the aid is back,” said one participant, “We desperately needed it and it came at the right time.”
